This is Selina, who traveled from Europe for the 2011 Twin Peaks Festival. If you haven't sensed a trend, I have been trawling my image archives looking for anything that I glossed over on the first (or second or third) look.
This is one of those images. Shot with the venerable Nikkor 85mm ƒ1.4 D lens. The only thing that would get me to give up this lens would be the newer AF-S version, if only for the focusing speed increase. I suppose it has an optical edge as well, being years newer. (advances in manufacturing and optical coatings, oh my)
Anyways, the picture. Shooting this lens wide open leaves a very narrow window of opportunity for focus, so I tend to stop it all the way down to ƒ2 and sometimes (gasp) ƒ2.8.
The clarity and detail is pretty phenomenal even at these apertures.

I miss you Pop, we still had adventures to go on.
